What are the four basic properties of a gas sample?

What do the gas laws describe?
The relationships between pairs of the properties of gases.
What is the relationship between volume and pressure?
There is an inverse relationship – an increase in one results in a decrease in the other.
What does Boyle’s Law assume?
Constant temperature and constant amount of gas.
What is Boyle’s Law?

At a constant temperature, the volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is inversely proportional to the applied pressure.

What is Charles’s Law?
At constant pressure, the volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature.
How are volume and temperature related?
Volume and temperature are linearly related.
If two variables are linearly related, what does that mean?
Plotting one against the other on a graph produces a straight line.
What does extrapolate mean?
To extend a graph past its plotted points.
What is the value of absolute zero?
0K
What is the combined gas law?
A combination of Charles’s Law and Boyle’s Law.
What is Avogadro’s Law?
At fixed temperature and pressure, the volume of gas is directly proportional to the amount of any gas.
What does Guy-Lussac’s Law assume?
Constant volume and number of moles.
