Arthur Miller Essay

Between 1949 and 1953. Arthur Miller wrote two of his most celebrated dramas. Both dramas dealt with major jobs in society. The chief characters of the dramas were similar. Besides. the back uping characters of both dramas were likewise. Arthur Miller’s plays Death of a Salesman and The Crucible are similar in many ways. The chief intent of both Death of a Salesman and The Crucible was to demo major jobs in American society. In Death of a Salesman. Arthur Miller was seeking to demo the impossiblenesss of the American Dream. In The Crucible. he was seeking to demo how society is intolerant toward others and is prone to craze. Both dramas dealt with society get the better ofing the norm. hard-working adult male. Each drama showed a society that was full of fraudulence and prevaricators. In both of these dramas. society was depicted as an evil thing that would overmaster the mean individual and make an unfair universe.

The chief characters of Death of a Salesman and The Crucible. Willy Loman and John Proctor. were likewise in many ways. Both of these work forces had adulterous personal businesss. and in both instances. the personal businesss ended up destructing their lives. Both of these work forces were hard-working. mean work forces who were merely seeking to do a good life for themselves and their households. Name callings were of import to both work forces. and they both took pride in their names. In both instances. many determinations the two made were because of their household members. One big similarity between Willy and John was the fact that they both finally died. and the decease was partially their pick. Both work forces could hold avoided decease. but alternatively. they chose to decease because they believed it was the right thing to make.

In these two dramas. there were besides many similarities between the back uping characters. In both dramas. kids had much more power than they usually do. In Death of a Salesman. Willy’s boy controlled much of his life. In The Crucible. the misss. led chiefly by Abigail Williams. caused many people to be hanged. and even more to be imprisoned. Besides. both John and Willy had married womans that were really loyal to them throughout their lives and supported them until the terminal. Both dramas showed a figure of power. seen as Howard in one drama and Judge Danforth in the other. In both dramas. the chief character had a friend who stood up for them at the terminal. Willy had Charley. who had been his best friend for a long clip. and John had Reverend Hale. who tried to forestall John’s decease. There are many similarities between characters in the two dramas.

Death of a Salesman and The Crucible are likewise in many ways. Arthur Miller created similar characters in both dramas. He used both to demo the many things incorrect in America.
